I just noticed this: A friendly nation asked me to stop trading with Asoka. Since I'd just finished a big war with Asoka, I wondered what trades I currently had. It turns out the Peace Treaty was the only thing!
Guys: A Peace Treaty, which you cannot cancel or change, shouldn't count against you as does a normal trade agreement, which can be cancelled if you want.
So fix it already! :king:

I think a peace treaty only counts as a trade if you are receiving or giving something per turn from the other civ, and then only if you are within ten turns of having signed the treaty. Still needs altering though as it doesn't make much sense.

Not in my experience. Just the treaty, nothing else was involved. Well, a pile of gold perhaps, but not on a per-turn basis.
The thing is, you HAVE TO make peace once in a while or your cities stop production altogether!
Also, there's just about no way to get your friendly AI to stop fighting at the same time as you do. There should be a "war pact" or something so that when one partner stops, the other has the option of stopping too. Again since the enemy AI often won't even talk, you can easily be stuck in a war your "friend" pulled out of.
