Pillaging

Pillaging is valid to me. It represents true guerilla warfare. The value is demonstrated by a numericaly inferior force slowing down their stronger foes. Thus affording a weaker element the means to resist without sacrificing their limited amount of units. Although it isn't what comes to mind when you think about "civilized" warfare, it still has a place in the game (like it or don't).

"We don't need the keys, we'll break in." Rage against the machine.

I don't often pillage, unless I need to sever links from one city to another.

I always just surround the city with units, which in effect starves the city into submission without having to destroy or ruin too many things that I may need once I'm in ownership of Paris, or whatever it may be.

So? Pillaging is one of the better strategies to employ, but I'm glad to know who doesn't do it.

I only pillage against live opponets, and in certain scenarios, to slow the AI (Red Front for one).
