It's about an AI tactic:

When an AI sees a strategic resource owned by a civ that may be used to build a strong weapon (of mass destruction, mostly) then they immediately declare war on that civ to "liberate them", disreguardless of wether or not they had even starting building the weapon. Eventually, the AI should completely wipe out the civ.

Realism??? Where's the realism???

I can see, that it can be a good strategy to prevent others by military means from having a devastating weapon, but can you name one instance in the world, where this was a reason for war???Did Canada or Mexico declare war to the US when they were building the first nuclear weapons??? No...not really...

Compare military power of Mexico and the US.... and Canada is a faithful ally of the Americans.

Yet such wars have been and are in reality - what do you think was the real reason for the NATO operations against Yougoslavia and what is the reason for the US strengthening thier presence in theCentral Asian republics of the former USSR? - "Democracy"? - LOOOOOOL
Resources.

THe same - Iraq and Kouwait, Erithrea and Ephiopia.
All the colonial wars of the olad Europe - the same reason. Gold if not uranium.

Surely a lot of wars were about ressources, but the initial statement said something else, it was about wars to prevent someone from building weapons.

Yes I agree - this is not viable given the existense of world trade and uranium mugglers :-)
It would be better to enable the AI to conquer not the territory as it is but purposefully conquer resource-rich areas - as it is in reality... Especially - strategic resources.
