Play without CD?

I am new to Civ2, but I have played Civil
War Generals2 for a while, and it has a patch you can download that will enable you to play without the CD. Does Civ2 have such a patch?

Sure you always have no cd cracks for civ2. Just check the download section of civfanatics I think. Or at least on gamecopyworld.

...or you can play without the CD anyway - run the civ2 exe from your hard drive - you wont see the wonder movies / animtaed hearalds or spaceship movie but the game will run fine.

Classic (2.42) will run, but not MGE. MGE checks for the disk in the CD ROM drive, and if it ain't there, it won't run. The No-CD patch is for MGE. Do not double patch the .EXE.
