this an idea requested by Sitalkas and others.

it will be presented as a hypothetical uniting-of-the-tribes in or around 320BC. if the human player does not select them, they will not appear. they will use an existing civ slot.

they will have the ability to pack up cities and move them.

they will not be able to build workers or improvements, but they will be able to take advantage of captured ones. they will get bonus yields from horses, cows and sheep, basically as if they were improved.

their units will be built with food.

they will have to complete their goals while remaining a nomadic society ie they will not be able or allowed to research Agriculture or similar techs.

a gold goal is probably a good idea since it will keep them from teching and make them rely on trade routes and pillaging. they will basically be able to attack many civs with impunity since the can just run away with their cities if a counter attack comes.

how does all this sound?

Sarmatians would probably be a better name; IIRC Alexander basically broke the back of the classical Scythian Kingdom and most of the steppe became Sarmatian, and for most of the timeline the Scythians formed two mostly settled kingdoms in the Crimea and Northern Thrace.

Oh my god! Great news!

All sound great to me, such a unique play-style ! Sarmatians instead of Scythians sounds good too!

I can't wait to play as them!

I'm fine with calling them the Sarmatians.

if your going to add the Sarmatians can you also add the Tengri religion for the steppe nomad civs since most nomads were from the Tengri faith.

also this would be cool for the Hephthalite Empire and their descendant if they get to found the religion Zun who worshiped the sun, Zoor or Zoon. since the Hephthalite Empire ruled all of the Hindu Kush. They fought to keep out Islamic conquest of Afghanistan for 200 years.
