Playing BNW with a copy bought in Russia

Hey, I somewhat hijacked someone else's thread and I feel that I should just make my own. So my Russian brother bought me BNW form my birthday about 2 weeks ago. He traded it to me on Steam. However, I can't seem to play BNW and whenever I click the check the BNW option under the DLC doesn't activate, it just stays on Gods and Kings. I have BNW installed, and I have rebooted everything.

My question is: Even though the copy of BNW isn't region locked, is the fact that it was purchased in Russia preventing me from accessing the game? Will I be able to play it tomorrow?

Hi, I'm in the same exact situation. I got my game gifted from someone who was located in Russia, and I'm now trying to activate it. I asked this question in the 2k forums and was told that I should wait for the worldwide release which is tomorrow to activate it, even though I'm in the U.S.
