Playing without the cd

I use a netbook, a lap top too small to fit a CD drive. It is more than capable of handling the game, which I ordered online a while back, however until now I hadn't thought of a way to play. It then hit me that I could insert the CD on my roommates computer and, using the network, install it on mine. I have the game with both expansions. I installed it, however every time I try to load it up it tells me that I need a CD. I have a never-used registration key and all of that, and it is a completely legal copy. My room mate's computer is too crappy for me to play on. Is there a way to circumvent the no-cd restriction? It should be completely legal, considering I spent the money and purchased not only the game but both expansions. Thanks

Updating to the most recent patch for BtS (3.19) allows you to run it without the disc. I can't remember if you can patch your installation without running the game at all. But you can download the patch here.
