I recently ordered Civ2 off E-BAY and havent gotten it yet(yeah a little late I know) and wanted to know does the Playstation version have an editor at all?
No it doesn't have an editor, nor does it have the Customize World options of the PC version. Plus it is extremely slow in the latter stages on a big, or even medium world (a turn every 20 minutes or so). On the other hand it is Civ and better than nothing but if you've got a PC that will handle it you really should take that option.
I have to agree with Nick. I'm playing PS Civ 2 at the moment because my computer's knackered beyond (cheap) repair, and it really is the bare bones of the game. You don't get anything beyond choice of Civ, no. of opponents, level, world size, M/F ruler, barb level and architecture style. All the worlds are random, which at least gives you a challenge, but you don't get a cheat mode, real world map, editor or any scenarios. Obviously you can't play MP, but since the PS 2 allows you to play Tony Hawk 3 online, then maybe some day in the future Civ 2 MGE (or even Civ 3) might be released for it! Wouldn't hold your breath though. It's still Civ though!!!!!
I think Civ3 might well be released for PS2 at some stage (whether multiplayer online I wouldn't like to say). Didn't know Tony Hawk's 3 was going to be MP online for PS2 - any idea when it appears on PS2? The PSX version is due Friday I believe (typical - wait ages for a great game and two come along at once).
At the risk of turning this thread into one that belongs in the All other Games Forum, No no non nay nein!!!!
The PS2 Tony Hawk 3 came out in the US on 7th November (I believe), but the PSX one is still in the pipeline. At least that's what I've heard. Maybe wrong, but one thing's for sure - it wasn't in the games shop I went to yesterday so it certainly isn't out in Britain yet.
PS - Tony Hawk isn't very popular at CFC because they had a horrible pop-up advert to advertise THPS2 with music that took ages to load and ruined loads of screens so we THPS fans have to keep quiet about it.
