Moo Zedong
Chieftain
Can anyone help me? I have a Radeon 9200 and I'm having all sorts of trouble finding a solution to the mess otherwise known as Civilization IV...
The unpaking thing worked for a while, I was actually able to watch the whole intro and start a game! However, this eventually crashed (around 1560ish) and I was soon back to freezing at Leonard's 'In the beginning' speech after dragging my machine through a very patchy intro sequence.
I was then told about the Omega drivers solution but although I managed to dowload them (from ngohq via omegadrivers.net) and installed them on my machine, I was now left unable to start my machine let alone the game. I kept getting stuck mid start up with a blank screen - I know this will make sense to some people but I'm really not qualified for this level of technical tomfoolery, I'm just a hopeless Civaddict, not a certified IT Engineer!
As I was hopelessly stuck and it was getting stupidly late I had to do a system restore to be able to get back online and come here for some advice.
My system is Windows XP (with SP2) on a Comaq (HP) nx7010 with 1.7Ghz Intel Pentium and 1.69Ghz 1GB RAM.
I have managed to play the game for a few hours so I know how much I'm going to love it and as when I played I had no issues with it at all I'm fairly confident my system can actually handle this game. But I'm utterly lost as to how to get some kind of value out of purchase. If I don't get to play it soon I'm going to have a complete nervous breakdown. I've been waiting for this game for too long to give up now!!
Please help...anyone fancy playing Obi Wan to my Princess Leia?
