Hello all i have been playing Civ 4 for about 1 year, just started playing again on a different computer, and i have really enjoyed myself with this game. However, once I tried to install patch 1.74, i have been unable to play the game and unable to uninstall. I literally went through my entire registry and deleted all files relating to Civ 4, then i uninstalled and tried to reinstall and still it wont let me play. When i try to play i get the message "failed to start because D3DX9_32.DLL" when i try to uninstall i get the message "error (-5009 : 0x8000ffff)". I have read the forum regarding both these issues and nothing is working, this is seriously one of the most frustrating things i have delt with in a long long time and makes me wonder why they offer a patch that totally destroys your game.
