I can win monarch,it is not big deal, but emperor-I'm being crushed from the begining:they grow up faster then me,scientificly are much advanced, even if I have good territory, with much cows (or cattles,I forgott the name)...could it be so big diference? When I play on monarch,I'm not backward in any wiew (I don't file like it),but on emperor I just abandon game every time (which I never do beside, even if I'm helpless,on other levels.so you know how miserable I'm).......So if anyone ever won emperor, and some are even on deity,I think,-please give some advice!

I think there is something about this in the "War Academy" on this site. You should go and check it out.

This is my emperor strategy(based on the settings i use: standard map pangaea Accel prod=on.Large map is too much for my computer to handle.)

my civ of choice for Emperor is Iroquois, build as many cites as you can hook up horses and build a large stack of MW beat up on some poor computer demand all his tech.. regroup you will be in your golden age so soon as you got another stack go again on another computer demand his tech, i usually do this until i get to prebuild another wonder and build Leonard's workshop i would be waring and demanding techs so after leanardos is done i would upgrade warriors to medievals and with my MW go on to another war upgrade a few MW to Knights(just because they are a good mobile defence for my MW's)
after a while all the comps get annoyed and they all start declaring war on you  currently on my emp game with iroq i own 51% of the globe, with iroq at Cavalrys and have the remainding 3/4 computers agaisnt me

taking a builders approach to Emperor. i would usually pick Dutch, i havent really had much success on emp with the builders apparoch,i still get out researched early on.. but if you go straight to lit and build great library it helps you alot and can save a bit of money untiill education is done, then i go straight to econmics marketplaces banks and john smiths trading., and i have it on max aggression and normally have a computer declare war on me and then drag other AI's into it.

I have read a little tips from war academy, and was dissapointed when I read that AI gets 20% bonus in production,so it is pretty hard to get some wonder.....that explains much, cause I didn't get how is he developing so faster than I (temples,etc...)cause it didn't make any sense to me.....I won't go further than monarch :)),it is not boring that much.....although I would like to here someone who can win on emperor,or deity?

I win on Emperor every time, and I win on Deity if I put a bit of effort into it.
I just find it very hard to give 'tips' on how to win. I just got better by practising, and by realising what to do, and what not to do --- although I can't explain what these 'whats' are ;)

Don't build wonders, however tempting it is. If I start off with Ivory, i'll spark a GA with a UU (in an early war), and then build the Statue of Zeus -- but this is the only wonder i'll ever considor building. This is only with C3C.

One of the main things you should aim to do, is an early war. Once you've won, the game is in your control. You will be larger than every other civ, and more powerful than every other civ. Along with clever trading, you can't go wrong. You should spend a fair amount of time trading btw.
Saying this, it isn't difficult to win by being a builder. Just don't go for the early war, and build some (good) wonders every now and again. Clever trading is a must...

I've been quite ambiguous with my advice, mainly because even if you do these things, you're not sure to win - it could still go horribly wrong, depending on how you play the game. It's all to do with practise in my opinion :) So go away, and don't come back till you can beat Emporer ;) (don't bother reading the War Academy either)

I think the main difference between Monarch and Emporer is that Emporer needs more trading. Take advantage of turns when one civ has tech x but not y, and another cv has y, not x. Also, if two civs are ignorant of each other, take advantage.

I think that it can also come down to the individual game situation (ie the map, or the location of other civs). Like if you're capital is surrounded by jungle, you can be in trouble even on the lower levels whereas if its grassland, river, a few hills, you can cane emperor and above.

I recently started my first Emperor game as the Celts, and i was in the lead by 1AD. My strategy was simple, i discovered Iron Working as FAST as i could then made about 20 Gallic Swordsmen, which i used to trample the spearmen of Japan and Babylon. In about 5 hours i had a half-continent Celtic empire with big cities (Agricultural) and high culture (Religious).

If you do well on Monarch, you can certainly do well on Emperor. Instead of listing a lot of tips or strategies, one piece of advice:

As you move up the levels, the biggest challenge is probably psychological -- you feel so far behind and so backwards that you give up. In fact, it is not at all uncommon to be horribly backwards (scientifically, militarily, empire size and power, etc.) for what seems a long time, and in degree far beyond what you ever faced at the next lower level.

Stick it out. Don't give up. Look for ways to get closer to parity and then into the lead. Keep at it.

Learning to accept, and ultimately become comfortable with, starting in a deep hole compared to your competitors, is probably the "hardest to learn" aspect of moving up into the higher levels - your position at the end of the ancient age in a very successful emperor game looks a lot different than you position in the same time frame in a very successful monarch game. Playing repeatedly, I'll bet you find that a thorough whipping of the AI at emperor looks a lot different at the end of the ancient age than a thorough whipping at monarch - you just need to build up more familiarity with what's a strong position and what's a weak position (they all look weaker at the higer levels).

Good luck!

It remains me :D. I win on Emperor every time, and I win on Deity if I put a bit of effort into it (effort in my case, for me, is "reloading") . I need to learn a lot to be a good deity player :(. But I enjoy emperor with random civs, huge map, random map. I have to wait for deity until i got bored with emperor.

In emperor, you just have to get used to being behind in the beginning. You can spend most of your time building, as I usually do, but at least one good placed war is usually needed.

If you get far behind, just try to stick it out until replacable parts, in which artys can allow you to defeat much more powerful militaries.

Just make sure a single civ doesn't get too powerful. At least if this is not the case, you can get allies when an enemy doesn't leave you alone.

Catt's advice is right on the mark :goodjob: . Getting used to the far behind
part IS the most difficult part  . Keep :wallbash: and good luck, it
should not be hard for you to advance up in diff. if you add a couple of very
early wars to your strategy and trade techs heavily, or as much as
possible ;) .
