Plz help -cant play!

Hi

I recently bought a copy ogf civ 4 and I installed it. But when I tried to play it i got a message which told me to check if directx was installed (it was) and something about graphics.
Has anybody else experienced this, and how do I solve the problem.

Btw. it's not the expansion

EDIT: The message says "failed to Initialize Renderer - Check DirectX version and graphics settings"

Now, I've installed the DirectX version which came with the game, but whats with the graphics?

Do you have the latest drivers for your video card?

It works now. Downloaded the latest patch, but it said i already had it and there was no need to install it again. I tried to launch the game, and it worked.
