Your game score is based only on territory and happy/content citizens. The way to maximize your score is to grow to 2/3 of the territory as quickly as possible and then max out your population. Buildings don't make any difference to your score except to the extent they provide happy faces.
I don't usually try to maximize my score, but I do know that or a higher Firaxis score play ing the 20k or 100k game doesn't make all that much sense. Nor does going for launch for that matter. I think the Jason score tries to make those score higher. SirPleb has an article on maximizing your score here
