Another thing BE did right. Keeping tabs on resource counts to be used for higher level units and buildings. This also creates the possibility of bonuses such as X number of Y resource.

Higher level units, as in, another means to promotions? A particular line of promotions, like Dark Age Social Policy cards only in Dark Ages or..?
 
As in higher level units / buildings requiring resources to build, but resources are abundant with different numbers in each source. You know, like BE.
 
BE has several promising ideas, that were never fleshed out. They were dropped from VI. Disappointing.
 
And it appears quantifying resources was in the plan all along. :thumbsup:
