As always, enjoy.

Hate on monasteries always interested me, since they're good buildings. It seems like there's a class between the rookies and elite that avoids them just because they're associated with religion.

The main difference between founding a religion and using one is minimal pre-shrine...and shrines are only REALLY nice when you don't have to sink hammers into missionaries for lots of gold. But the religious buildings can and often should be used regardless.

We definitely need better animals in BtS :p We surely need a kraken, for example to sink galleys , since that barbarian galleys are never a issue :sarcasm: :p

About monasteries ... well, I'm with TMIT in here. No love for the good ol'friar :D Seriously, even if they didn't allowed missionaries they would still be decent buildings until maybe univs and observatories pop out .

You didn't mention my combat wombats :(

I got a read out in a previous episode though! Yay me!! About getting civil service in 1000BC odd from the Oracle ;)

I can't download this episode it downloads almost done and then gives me an error message.

Monasteries are nice, once you've got some religions in there. Mostly I build them because they're cheap and give good culture, the science bonus is kind of gravy for me as you really need 2 or 3 for them to make a difference. Where they really shine is once you've got your religious multipliers out there, stuff like AP means a cheap two extra Hammers, and the others give a pair of Beakers and Gold. Nothing to sneeze at! A religion-centric strategy is heavy on Monasteries.

The downside is the same as for Great Lib: Sci Met gets held up.

I finally was able to listen to the show, great episode!

I do like using monastaries to boost my science, then get Spiral Minret, AP, and Sankore to get additional boosts. I guess this is why they are scaling the Relgious stuff back in Civ5 because it's such an obvious tatic to do.

I liked the second Music peice better for the Theme those the Japanese one was nice, it wasn't Epic feeling. The second one definitly did. Is there any way to get those music pieces? CD? MP3?
