    Yup, Polynesia is one of the better civs for happiness purposes. The trick is finding a starting map/position for plenty of UIs and then you're set.

    So when it comes to progress, how many cities is too many?

    Communitas map is honestly making polynesia alot more playable rn. On the cusp of the medieval age but with the sheer amount of fish and atolls that are around me I'm sure overpopulation will be an issue soon gotta crank out some GS's on land.

    communitas indeed makes good islands for polynesia. I wish there was an "island" starting location bias, don't know if codable.

    Histomen, on standard size I'd recommend around 8 cities for progress and 5 for tradition, with more only if they're either annexed capitals or puppets.

    Every time I try to play Polynesia, I'm reminded of exactly why I hate playing Polynesia.
