Possible to switch an Internet Multi to PBC?

Hello, in an ideal world I would like to have a PBC game for when the players can't all play at once, and then switch it to an internet game when everyone can play. And then convert it back to cloud when the co-online session is over. I've been able to load the cloud version into an internet game, but when I try going from internet --> cloud, the game lists all other human players as computer players and will not let anyone else join the game. Is there a fix to this issue or am I hitting my head against a wall for nothing?

I've done googling on this subject and haven't seen a solution, and I've had multiple players attempt to load the internet --> cloud game to no avail.

Thank you

We have been playing by alternating between Internet and PBC for 6-8 months now. It has worked for the most part. Some issues that we've had are:

  1. Trouble with connecting to Play By Cloud
We cannot always get everyone in the PBC-room in time before the timer is out. You have a 60 sec timer from when you´ve chosen your save-file to load. Players must join by join code in order shown from top down in the game room. Even of everyone gets into the room in time, the server not always recognizes everyone ad the game sometimes loads up for the first player but without, say, player 2 out of 5. You then must do the whole procedure all over again.

  2. When changing back to Internet game we cannot choose Dynamic Turns even if we started the first session with that setting. Warring becomes a clickin' mess for us with simultaneous turns. We'd rather take a little longer than having to stress out over everything happening at the same time.

  3. After a player is eliminated we sometimes have trouble getting a PBC up. We just get an error message saying one player cannot connect to the server. We usually waith for another date to continue the game through Internet mode and try again after that session. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I will probably remember more issues soon after i send this but I would say it mostly works but with some sometimes big annoyances.
Right now i cannot connect to the 2K-servers at all for some reason. It worked 6 hours ago but now nothing. Something happened after the server update last week.

Are you making sure all players are still in the game by the time you save game in Internet mode? Do you send them the room code and make sure they join in the right order? Sometimes (almost always) the other players wont show up until right before the game actually starts. Pay close attention in the PBC game room right before your game starts up. It's a mess sometimes but we usually get it to work.

I've only converted from Internet to PBC once, and upon loading the PBC game it listed the other human players as Computer. I suppose I should just try going back to the internet version and try it again?

It might say computer until a human player enters the room. Did anyone try to join?

When we attempted the human player could not join, and their Civ is listed as computer. I would blame it on the short timer, however the game won't launch either since it only detects one human player (the host) in the game. There isn't an option to switch a Civ from computer to available/human either. Next chance our schedules align I may try reloading our internet game and doing a re-save and convert again if you've had success before. Those early moves are agony via cloud!
