Post 1.52 Black Map

Please Help!

I have read with lots about people's problems with the black map issue. Can anyone give me any further tips.

I have got the game running, although quite slowly, and not too stabally on a two year old laptop. I want to get the game running now on my nice shiny six month old regular desktop pc.

it has 512mb ram, it has a SiS714 video card with the most recent driver I can find. As far as I can tell, I am at the very least reaching the minimum specs. (the specs are a damn sight higher than my laptop which at least can show u things)

I have installed the 1.52 patch, which has got rid of the floaty teeth issue. and the game itself is running fine. Just someone has turned the lights out and its all dickie dark out there.

I have altered the XML file in Assets/Technologies, and I have tried revealing the whole map in the world builder. Still no change.

There are definitely people out there more wise in the ways of these things than me, PLEASE PLEASE help me.

Your SIS chip is the problem. There's no workaround for SIS cards that I've heard of, so you've gotta buy a videocard to get it to work right.

I have the same problem with the new NVidia drivers and 1.52 patch. The best I could get is medium graphics, and the problems go away (at least for a long time, like 2-3 play hours).

I completely reinstalled the game, and patches. On high graphics, all of my bugs are back (black maps, floating teeth, garbled text, etc.....).
