Post Ideas About Missing Scenarios

the first Iraq war was nothing though.
There's no "hours" calender setting.
Iraqs army was already leaving Kuwait, and Bush didn't want to set a precedent of responding to aggression with more aggression and occupation.... so how is this a good civ 4 scenario?
whereas the more recent invasion actually had some more choices, also, interesting rebellion, culture flipping options... also, possible inclusion of Syria and Iran and al-Qaeda, none of which would play into a Gulf War scenario...

Can you see my point, Doctor Strangelove? No chance of going down into the bunkers to mate in 1990, but Cheneys been doing it under the Naval Observatory (his mansion, the only area in the US obscured on GoogleEarth) since 2001

I never said the current Iraq war wouldn't make a nice scenario, but It'd start less arguements and a bit more eaisier to make than the current Iraq war.

Turns aren't an issue either, since recent Firaxis made scenarios (WWI, Battle For East Asia) are only 60 turns.

Let's not also forget that the Gulf War could be made more open ended too. Unless you could only play as the US, and the victory limits were very linear.

Of course, scenarios I'd like to see much, much more than both Iraq wars combined would be scenarios set around 800 AD (Alfred the Great, etc) or the Vietnam war.

Personally, I don't think that 60 turns is enough for a scenario, including the great new scenarios by Trip. But thats just me.

I agree on the issue of a Vietnam war scenario, I started one before 152 with the Battle for East Asia map, but I never wanted to redo it for the patch. I wouldn't mind working on one with you if you'd like. ATM I'm using AndyTerry's XX Century Mod to do a Cold War northern hemisphere, quasi-anachronistic scenario that includes the conflict in Vietnam.

I actually talked with AndyTerry a bit on ICQ about making a Vietnam war scenario for his mod. Of course, it bascially rounded up to:

A. I'm not great at making particulary accurate scenarios.
B. I'll wait for him to release the next version of the mod.

War of the Conquest or in french La guerre de Conquête. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_and_Indian_War
http://www.cmhg.forces.gc.ca/cmh/en/page_219.asp
In europe this war was call 7 years war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years_War

The ideas it not to send the nouvelle france to death but do a lot a small war to finish with the Conquest war.

Map : North-east of North America.

Principal civilization :
Empire Français :
France (North of louisianne and est of Canada)
Nouvelle-France

England Empire :
England (for the hudson bay)
Virginie state
Northern Carolina

Indian tribe :
Iroquois Conferation of (allied with england)
Algonquin (france allied)
a lot of small tribe allied with france or neutral (useful for block colonial expention and.. i hate barbarian)
It can be nice if the tribe can be like mongol in this scenario :
Genghis Khan scenario: The nomadic Mongols get points for razing cities to the ground. They don't research technologies; rather, they seize them from their enemies. And their mobile-camp unit lets them spawn units every turn. If the camp is on the plains, it'll spawn horse units. If the camp is in a forest, it'll spawn a catapult or trebuchet.

For new Wonder can be really useful to get other colonist for add other ressource (like http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=163000) and other ressource coming from Europe. The objective it to get some commerce with Indian tribe also good ideas to give some ressource to them.

Rather than that there could be a scenario with all the various celtic nations and England, so you can do any revolution you want. I've made just such a one, I'm trying to iron out a few inconsistencies before posting it, in which you can play as Scotland, England, Wales, the Marches (independent lords owning parts of eastern Wales), or any of the four Irish provinces (Ulster, Munster, Connaught or Leinster).

If someone is going to do a Wars of Independence scenario please for the love of go get a brit on board, because if its only an American doing it then it will just be like brave heart which was a) historical bull sh*t (pardon my french) and b) a crap movie.

Are you refering to myself? Notice the location? And the signiature?

Braveheart is terrible, I agree.

WWI in Africa would make an interesting scenario... Almost every major European country at the time is represented, as well as having some native African countries.

A Civ IV version of the Battle of East Asia in WWII would be good, too...

A post-nuclear apocalypse mod would be neat! Society would rebuild itself with a mixture of the mechanical and magic or simply do a Road Warrior motif. Much like that scenario that came with the Civ2 MGE.
