We will be establishing our Iron City in 5 turns (assuming no troubles from GCA). We must determine a name for this city and a build queue. I would recommend a barracks, right away. We will already have a spear there, and there are a handful of warriors nearby that will be waiting for upgrades.

GCA's warrior will need to vacate that mountain. It doesn't need to be done immediately (like I said, we won't settle that site for 5 turns), but it will need to be done eventually.

Our worker has just commenced construction of the road in the mountains so he will complete it in 5 turns. Then 1 turn to move into the grassland, and another 2 turns to road that tile. Then it will be ready to move onto the iron. That's 8 turns before our worker should reach the iron tile.

So, the question becomes, how shall we handle the situation with the GCA warrior?

Wouldn't the customary "Remove your units or declare WAR" suffice? I mean when we place the city in 5 turns along with a Spearman, they will be within the city borders. Do we need to be polite about it? Do we really need to pre-announce the creation of the Iron city? GCA will see it coming days before it is founded. I'm sure Ek already has a plan set up for this. Perhaps a casual passing comment of some sort during an embassy chat is called for. :D

Don't ask them to move before we have built the city. I don't want to give them more time to discuss what to do. Build the city, have the Spearman in it, escort the worker and make sure our warriors in the area are not to far away should GCA declear war.

Maybe we don't even need to ask them. If we build the city there, chances are that they willl move their warrior away by themself. If not we could demand it. Is it possible to give them a "move your forces our declear war" message in the in-game diplomacy screen in a PBEM game? That way, they wont have much time to consider it.

And the Barracks sounds good. I guess we don't have to move our forces from one side of the land to the other just to upgrade :)

I too think that there is no reason to announce our intentions to settle that spot. They will see our settler in 2 turns anyway. They'll get the picture clear enough, and if not, we may need to explain it to them.

Also, I don't think there's a way to perform an in-game demand in a PBEM game. I may be mistaken, but I believe the diplomacy chat is nonfunctional in PBEM games. Of course, we could always rename our warrior to "Get Off Our Iron Or Else (1/1/1)" :D.

Well then, should we rename our warrior to
  • Please vacate this area
  • Make way for the trans-Fanatikese highway
  • No Gamecatchers allowed
  • Kindly move your stinkin' Gamecatcher behind off of our iron deposit
:D

How about 'The Doughnut Mines'? :p

Unless everyone really likes the idea, I'd go for the Chinese translation of 'Sacred Mountain.' After all, the iron in the mountain will mark the beginning of our glourious world dominations. :mwaha:

For a name, how about Liberation Mountain, as it will probably be the Iron from this mountain town that will set us free from the tyranical injustices of the GCA.

Since we will have more than one warrior in the vicinity, we can use plenty of names. My personal order is D,B,C,A.

As Military Advisor in this game. I would call it "Make way for the trans-Fanatikese highway".

Why don't we name the city "Get Out Of Here Quick" untill they do get out. Then, we just have to rename the city to whatever name we want.

It is way more remarkable than renaming a warrior.

The founding of our mine-city is now near at hand. We should now begin to think about a queue of the most important things you'd like to see produced there.

Mine are the following:

  • *1-Walls (the city won't get more then size 6 untill we have an aqueduct in it, and the wall will help to contain the GCa armies)
*2-Temple (we only have a palace as our culture source!)

I disagree about the temple. We need to build warriors, and spend precious maintinence gold on those warriors!

When the empire is better established, we'll think about a temple.
