Can anyone give me any guidance on how to set up Privateer 2: the darkening (for DOS) under Win ME?

Failing that, how 'bout under win 98 SE? - In particular, how do I get it to load my on-board sound card and USB joystick?

First I must say it was not a good idea running your PC under ME It's quite a piece of sh... mmm let's say crap (to stay polite )
Anyway: for your onboard soundcard, you must install the DOS drivers emulators. They are generally in your motherboard install cd. You should find them easily, especially if the sound chip is AC97.
On the other hand I fear that USB is not supported (and probably will never be) under DOS.

Oh and I just forgot one thing. Playing under DOS means you must have enough memory (generally 590-600K). Use emm386 then.
