recently i did a clean install of my comp and i forgot to unistall civ 4 before i did a clean install of my comp then when i got the problems fixed i unistalled civ 4 from add and remove section removed the folder from program folder and removed any evidence from the regedit section so it was like a clean install.after i did all of that i reinstalled civ 4 onto my computer and the install went fine.after it was reinstalled i went to play the game it started alright from the cd in the drive and the load bar started fine then stopped halfway when it should of gone all the way to the end then a screen came up with different languges on i tlike english japenese and all others showed up to then that screen disappeared and the game would not start so i did all those steps i mentioned up above and it still will not work i have tried those steps 3 to 4 times got nowhere fast so i gave up and unistalled it and have not installed it again any sort of help would be a great help to me to get it reinstalled back onto my comp so i can start playing the game also it worked the first time before i did the clean install of my comp now it wont load and play the game for me which i dont know why that is any help to solve this problem would be good:(   :(

First of all, a general advice: use more fullstops, shorter sentences, and divide text into paragraphs if you want others to understand you.

Now, I tried to decipher your post. I recommend that before reinstalling, erase all remaining civ4 folders, i.e., under Program Files, under My Games, and possibly under C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 (hidden folder).

Now, if that won't work, make sure you update your windows (service pack, etc), reinstall directX, install correct graphics drivers... Think of how your system configuration differs from previous windows installation, perhaps you'll come up with some ideas.

Post your CPU, RAM, graphics card, OS...
