Hello,

I have bought CIV V Campaign Edition via App Store, and I also have the ASPYR Boxed Games with steam account etc... I am trying to transfert the saved games from the boxed version to the App Store one.
Problem I can't find where those Saved files are store using finder...

THanks to give me a hint.

Best Regards

Hi, welcome :wavey:

Saves on the Mac are stored in the following locations:

The App Store Campaign Edition saves them in ~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.civ5campaign/Data/Library/Application Support/Civilization V Campaign Edition/Saves/single/

The Steam version saves them in ~/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Saves/single/

'~' is an abbreviation for your Home folder.

In OS X Lion the ~/Libraryfolder is hidden. Option-click the Go menu in Finder to see a menu item to get into ~/Library.

Thanks a lot,

Well I have found the Folder Bibliothèque (of course it is in French,...;) ),
But looks like container is not visible.

I am gonna look a little further.

Well , I went through the topic on the Forum,

The save files etc should be in the foler : Library/Application Support/ Civ V something..
Well I see Library / application support but nothing of an Civ V ... folder. Is it hidden ?
How can I unhide it?

Thanks a lot

It's not hidden once you get into ~/Library/.

Please remember that there are several "Bibliothèque" folders in OS X. The one you need is in your Home folder. Do not attempt to find any Civ5 stuff in the /Library/ or /System/Library/ folders.

Hello AlanH, hello Civ V players,

I was trying to do something similar to Darthmisster but cannot succeed...
I had the steam version and now cannot locate the file on the Civ V CE app version. I had succesfully saved some game after playing but I cannot locate them. So, I cannot add in the folder those from previous Civ V.
The /com.aspyr.civ5campaign/ folder is not there, not even hidden.
I guess this has something to do with the fact that I did not purchase it form app store, but downloaded somewhere else... but still I should be able to find a folder or something.
Thank for the help!

Hi, welcome

First. I don't think it is possible to purchase the Campaign Edition anywhere else but on the App Store. If you have done so, it is probably an illegal copy.

Next, the Campaign Edition has been "Sandboxed" since the above posts were made. As a result, you have to go to the following location to find saves and other user-specific data for this version:

/Users/<your user name>/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.civ5campaign/Data/Library/Application Support/Civilization V Campaign Edition

As usual, you have hold down the Alt key and select Go in Finder to get to the hidden Library folder in your Home folder.

I also suspect (well, I am almost sure... :( ) that is not a legal copy. The suggested path does not exist.
I just wanted to try it on my MacBook Air (1.6 GHz) before purchasing the app, and I could see it is not really worth it. I have to use the tactical map almost all the time.
Thank you anyway, I hope I will have the chance to play with a newer machine soon (then I will buy Civ V CE!).
