Problem with a new digital camera

I just brought home a Fuji digital camera. The thing is awesome, 8 megapixels, and all that stuff. But %&@#!& Windows XP doesnt detect it. The first time I connected it with the USB port, it did, but then it said there was a 'cyclic redundancy error' (of course ) and that it wasnt installed properly. Now, it doesnt detect the camera at all, and its not even installed, so I cant remove it. I already installed the software on the cd. Should I have had it connected with the USB when I installed the software?

Could be the USB port on the camera got messed up. If it's still under warranty you might be able to get a replacement.

Jumpin' Jehosaphat! That's a major workaround to fix that problem.

Im a one trick pony, and formating is the trick. I do it so often these days its no big deal. I back up all the important stuff I care about on the memory stick. I have virtually nothing installed. Not much of a gamer anymore.
