Problem with multiplayer voting screen

I can play IP to IP fine, but everytime me and the other person lose connection i get to the voting screen. It works fine until I click a button, tyhen the background music starts playing and nothing works. I keep having to manually reboot my pc. I have absolutely no other problems with the game; it never ever freezes except when I get to that annoying Vote screen and push a button. It wont even let me ctrl alt delete out of the game. does anyone know how to get out of this problem so I can at least exit the game from the voting screen? Thanks in advance.
