Problem with scenario crashing

Hi, I seem to be having a problem with a scenario I'm working on. Every time I load Civ4 and try to load the scenario, as soon as the game starts it says "you have been defeated". I don't understand why this is happening, since the only possible victory setting is "Space Race", and I have made sure that every team has a starting position on land.

The problem is that I cannot open WorldBuilder except from within the game, and it won't let me click on the menu while the "You've been defeated" sign is on the screen - all I can do is click ok, and watch in vain as the game directs me out of the in-game screen. I've tried loading another scenario and attempting to load the one I'm working on from within WorldBuilder, but again as soon as it loads it says "You've been defeated"! Please help, someone! :(

EDIT: I've tweaked a few things and double-checked that the XML is all ok, but I still get this error! Furthermore, the game ends at "7795 AD", even though in the XML the beginning game turn is set to 0 and the start date is set to 2006.

I've noticed that if you've deleted all of the space race buildings & spaceship stuff, but still have space race victory on, sombody will still win the space race in a couple of turns. I don't know if this helps you. Also, try enabling another victory temporarily and see if it solves the problem.

If you cannot edit the wbs with world builder, you can always edit it with notepad (using notepad is faster, too). Make sure that everyone has a settler or whatever with notepad. Use notepad to check the victory conditions, # of turns, starting turn, starting year, etc set correctly in the wbs file, as this may differ from your XML settings.

Good Luck :goodjob:
