Civ II runs just fine when it is using the default units.gif file but if I try to substitute one I created, it crashes to the desktop. Restore the original units.gif and I can play again, try my version, crash. This happens no matter what version of Civ II I'm playing, be it the original, patched to 2.42, or coverted to Civ II Gold MPE. Can someone give me some insight on how I can play the game with the units file I created and not the bland default version? I have attached my units.gif to see if anyone else has this problem.

Graphics for MGE must be saved using Civ2's 8-bit palette, either as a version 87a non-interlaced GIF or a BMP.
The palette and the version type are fine, but you can tell from the way it downloads to your web browser that it's an interlaced GIF.
