problems getting started

I found my old CD with Civ2 and wanted to play.. Installed the game with full install, everything went smooth..

As i started the game i came as far as selecting to turn on the heralds, nect thing i got the following error message: "CIV2 caused a stack fault in module IR41.dll at 0002:019D" Chosse close. CIV2 will close.

with only the option to close the game - i have been searching abit but havnt found anything - any of you guys that might be able to help me out here?
