I recently purchased a Dell e1705 notebook. It more than meets the necessary requirements to run the game, but I am having lots of trouble installing the game. Usually, the installation will get through the first disc, but will then freeze after I insert the second disc. Any suggestions as to how to correct this problem? The game installed well on my desktop.

- some dell notebooks come with a dvd drive (toshiba or something) that is causing trouble, try looking at their support page for a bios update
- connect your computers via LAN, enter the cd into your desktop, set up sharing of the drive, install the game from the shared drive (this may cause trouble when trying to run the game though)
- search the "tech support" forum for "installation", lots of problems and solutions
- post the exact error message

I'll check the website, but there is no error message; the installation (not the computer) simply stalls/freezes after I place the second disc into the drive.

- try cleaning the cd gently
- enter the cd into your notebook drive. can you see its contents if you navigate to it?
- try the same on your desktop, compare results..

i finally got the notebook to read the second disc, but now I am receiving an error of "C++ runtime error" near the end of the installation.

The exact error message is:
C++ libraries 7.1
data transfer (cyclic redundancy error)

I tried to install the game with two new disks, but now the notebook simply isn't recognizing the second disc at all.

Any suggestions (other than getting more discs) as to how to fix this problem? I have already tried saving the data on the second disc to the hard drive, but the installation software still won't recognize the data.
