Problems loading saved configurations

So recently I've begun trying to load up an old GS-era saved configuration (one that existed pre NFP). But whenever I hit the "start game" button it just takes me to this screen: hitting "start game" again will do nothing, the button just flashes but the game doesn't load, just remains on this screen, no matter how many times I hit "start game." Anyone else have this issue, or know why this happens/how to get around it? (for the record, sometimes when I start games I will see this screen pop up for a second, before it continues on to loading).
