I have a Spanish version of Civ3 and, since I hadn't found the expansion pack in my country, I recently bought it in English during a vacation. But when I was going to play, many load error messages appear due to files that are named in Spanish and the program don't find them. For example: art/units/scout/scout.INI (in Spanish: art/units/batidor/batidor.INI). I have renamed folders and files in English, but I cannot play 10 seconds without finding an load error message. Is there any way I could know how to rename all Spanish files into an English version? Or an easier solution for this problem? I haven't found a language setting option in Conquests.

Hi Isis !

Did you translate the names of all the units by hand, one by one ? How did you know what were the correct english names ? Did you have an access to English version ?

I cannot play english scenarios, as they cannot recognize Spanish names

Could you, please, provide here a list of corresponding names of units, in Spanish and English ?

Thanks a lot.

Igor

It is so hard to find out the right names. After renaming I am still getting error messages, because of some tiny little details like:

The right name for ArmyAncient is actually: Army_Ancient_Times

Or instead Swordman it should be Swordsman

Or instead MountedWarrior, put Mounted_Warrior

.... and so on ....

Why Firafix does not provide a list of corresponding names in all the languages, or even better a new PATCH !?

Yes, I translated the names of all units by hand. To know the names in English I had to check every folder in the Civilization III/art/units. For example, the game says that the file Ironclad.INI is not found. I searched and I found in the folder called Acorazado files with the name Ironclad. Then, I created a new folder called Ironclad, I copied the files in Acorazado, pasted them in Ironclad, and change the name from acorazado.INI to Ironclad.INI. It's tedious!

Yes, I did in the same way. Just, one must be very careful in adding spacing between the words, when there are several words in the name. Does the program check for all neccessary files at the very beginning ? I was playing one scenario for hours, without any error reported.
