Problems with Steam

I feel that I have made a grave error. I've been silently playing FFH2 for a long time now, and when Beyond the Sword came out, I was eager to purchase it and see how FFH2 would change. Maybe I could even finally help test it a bit. So I acquired BtS the quickest way I had available to me: I used Steam to purchase and install it.

So now I cannot get FFH2 to work. BtS is saved in the Steam directory, so none of the shortcuts work. I installed it correctly, I think, by putting it in the directory where BtS is located ( C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization iv beyond the sword\Beyond the Sword ). Does anyone have an idea on how to make it work? I only purchased BtS to play Fall from Heaven... >_> I hope I did not just lose $30.

FFH2 has not been ported over to BTS yet, and will not be for some time. Kael is in the process of that right now, and you can download the conversion thus far, although it's much too buggy to be playable.

However, BTS comes with a FFH scenario, which is called Fall From Heaven: Age of Ice. I recommend checking that out for the time being.

I was under the impression there was a rough beta version that needed help being tested under the "FfH2 BtS Conversion Beta" thread located here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=232177. That is what I am having trouble working, as the shortcut that comes with that download directs you to files located in the Civ 4 folder, not the Steam folder where BtS is not installed for me.

I have been playing Age of Ice, and I love it. :D

The shortcut directs to the program as if the mod were placed in the normal Civ IV BtS folder, not the Steam location, so it cannot find the program to open. I just attempted to load the Mod from BtS directly, and it did not even list it as an option. Are there variables in FFH2 that point specifically to the Civ IV directory, or did I just install it completely wrong? Here is the extension where the Fall From Heaven 2 024 folder is located: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization iv beyond the sword\Mods. It is sitting right next to the "American Revolution", "Desert War", and "Greek World" mod folders, so I thought it was in the correct place.

There's a "Mods" directory in the BtS install directory. You need to install any mods you want to play from BtS in there, not the normal Civ4 Mods directory.

The above directory is the normal BtS install directory for Mods.

Doesn't sound like it, since Desert War and American revolution are Vanilla mods.

Isn't there a "Beyond the Sword" folder inside that first folder (I know it's already got Beyond the Sword in it's name)?
