Processor up to spec?

Hi All

I'm having problems getting Civ3 to run on my home system, and though I've just read some things I want to try, I just wanted to ask this.

I'm running a system with a K6/2 400 processor, 256 megs memory, on windows 2000.

The query is - is the processor equivalent/better than a P2/300 as far as the spec check in Civ 3 is concerned?

If it wasn't would it bring up a message to that effect?

The processor should be ok - unfortunately you won't get a message advising if it is not - the game will just run very very slowly if it is not sufficient. The civ3 spec is a recommendation only - the sort of minimum processor for the game to run at an acceptable speed

I've actually solved the problem by wiping my system and sticking windows 98 back on. It now runs fine, though the fmvs are a bit slow
