Apologies if this has already been discussed, but a search on this topic was unhelpful to me.

Why are my Production Resources not helping my cities? The Happiness and Health ones work fine. For example, in my city screen's upper-right corner, I see Copper and Iron, Fish +1 and Clam +1, Gold +1 and Dye +1. Hovering over Copper indicates it should provide a bonus, but a quick tally of my city's total production indicates it is not. This is quite aggravating for cities that have a total production of +1, thus taking forever to build anything.

Am I missing something or is this a bug? Thanks.

Production resources will only help if they are in your city's radius and are mined. And they will only help that city, no others.

Things like Copper only provide a production bonus for some things. Like, the Internet or spaceship parts.

You're not missing anything, the happiness and health reports in the city screen are correct, but the +1 hammer report is misleading..you don't get any production bonus from having copper or iron in itself..it should just show the iron and copper icons, to show that your city is connected to these resources...the production bonus only applies to an actual mined copper or iron square.

It's misleading at best, and a bug at worst;I haven't got the game running at the moment to check if has been corrected in version 1.61

As solver said above , some resources give a bonus to certain buildings

Thanks for the responses. Drew, sorry about losing your job to Tom, dude.

By the way, I believe this to be a bug. If you look in the Civilopedia, it indicates a +3 bonus for the improved square, as per MrMahk's comment, but it also indicates a +1 production bonus as a resource. Can anyone confirm this as a bug or a misunderstanding on my part? Thanks again.
