PS4 error joining multiplayer session

my friend and i just got the game, but every time he attempts to join a multiplayer game he just gets the error joining multiplayer session alert. what causes this on ps4 and how can we fix it? i’ve seen several articles and posts explaining solutions for pc players, but i can’t find anything for console.

I've been having the same issue the only reason I got the game was to play with friends and I cant even do that dont know how this came out of the beta stage

yeah, we filled out a ticket with 2k support, and it looks like there's some kind of conflict with his ISP. i'll let you know if we find out exactly what's causing it, this has been a real pain in the ass lol.
