Hello!
Here is my first contribution to the world of Civilization 3: a set of Pediaicons for the PTW WW2 units that were not included with C3C, which can be downloaded here.

Special thanks go to Firaxis of course, LouLong, for posting the units on the site, ImperialHR and jade880 for making the pediaicons for the last four units (which I simply shrunk). These two made a great job, far better than my measly effort.

While some of these are just what looks like the unit_32 icons blown up on a white backround, they're better than nothing. And its good to see you made the tanks (forget who made the large icons) with small icons. Now no one will have to did for them. Thanks.
Somewhere, some one posted icons for the german rifleman and a maybe a few others not included in Conquests (in addition to the tanks). cAn't remember who or where though...

That's basically what they mostly are, but I'll take your post as a compliment!

Hi,

I think this is a great idea! I always missed some of the PTW icons. I particularily like the T-34/85 and the German Anti-Tank.

Some of the icons are, however, available in [c3c]
Civilization III\Conquests\Art\Civilopedia\Icons\Units

I also add a few I have collected from various sources over time. Maybe you will feel inspired to develop the sets further. For instance, there is an Elvis icon missing! :)

That would have been me. I posted them a while back in some thread in the main C&C forum and it got lost so here they are again: the German Infantry icon and a few color conversions I made to use w/ the awesome color conversions W.I.N.T.E.R made. Axis Infantry Pedia The German and I believe the American Infantry icons were both included with PTW, just in TETurkhans scenerio folder.

Good Job! :goodjob: Actually, the American Infantry icon is in the Conquests directory I mentioned above, along with the Medieval Japanese icons and the following from the WWII PTW set

X2_AmericanGI-large
X2_BritRifleman-large
X2_CombatEng-large
X2_F4F-large
X2_HMGBtln-large
X2_JapaneseRifleman-large
X2_ME262-large
X2_P38-large
X2_Zero-large

There are, of course, also small versions there! :)

Yes, I am aware that it is in the C3C folder but I am pretty sure that it came on the PTW disc as well, in TeTurkhans Scenerio folder along with the German Infantry, Japanese fire cannon and I think the siege crossbow. I could be wrong on the xbow but I am 99% sure that the two infantries were there because I remember in my PTW personal mod that I used the US infantry icon for all of the allied infantries and the German for all of the axis infantries.

Thank you for the positive comments; I have no intention at the moment of expanding them to include things like Elvis (I never liked to add them into my games) but you are quite welcome to try myself, its just a case of using FLICster to seperate an animation into frames, then choose the one you want and resize it with the GIMP, changing the background colour of course.

I did this more for my own purposes really, they don't stand up to any of the more profesional jobs that have been done out there (the last four icons or so, for one) - I've just always tried to find a complete set, and failed, so I decided "Why not make my own?" so I did. It was mainly for the Anti-Tank, Flamethrower and Machinegun units, units for which there are no home-made versions at all which is surprising considering their impact on moden warfare, mahcineguns in particular.
