Python Fatal Error

When the game is loading, I get a "Fatal Error" message every time. It says "Failed Initializing Python." I've re-installed the game 3 times, tried running it with and without the patches, and I still get the same error message. I installed the game on my laptop and it works great, but for some reason on my desktop it doesn't. Can someone help me?

Since I posted this, I uninstalled BTS and CIV IV completely, ran a registry cleaner to make sure everything was gone, including any leftovers from Warlords (plus I found some old Civ III files), then I reinstalled Civ IV and patched to 1.61. Then I reinstalled BTS but it still doesn't work. I still get the "Failed Initializing Python" message.
