Que-swapping the same unit?

I've recently picked up the idea from these forums of que-swapping units instead of fully building them (such a great idea). But how do I get multiple swordsmen que'd up in the same city? If I try to Shift-click a swordsman when my first one has only 1 turn left, it still goes to the end of the list. (presumably, the hammers are applied to the topmost unit of any type). Is there a way to get multiple units of the same type to be que'd with one turn left? I like to swordsman spam for city raiding purposes.

I think you use CTRL to put them at the front of the Q, maybe ALT. you will figure it out. But if you have them in the Q for over 10 turns they start to lose a % of thier hammers, so this is only effective to a certain point. I think its a 10-15% degredation of the hammers, there is a thread about this somewhere if you want to know more.

Ctrl + Click adds them to the top of the queue.
Shift + Click adds them to the bottom of the queue.
Alt + Click adds them to the queue an infinite number of times
Ctrl + Alt + Click adds them to the top of the queue an infinite number of times (though once the first one is built, the 2nd will be at the bottom of the queue)
Shift + Alt + Click adds them to the bottom of the queue an infinite number of times.

Fun note: If you Alt + Click unit A and then Shift + Alt + Click unit be, it will add Unit A and unit B to the queue an infinit number of times, switching between them. So the city will build A then B then A then B, etc... until you add something else / remove unit A/B from the queue.
You can miss and batch this a bit, so you can set it with a build queue something like this: A, B, A, B, C, A, B, C, D and it will just loop through it, over and over again.

Just shift add him and then click on the nearly completed one on the build queue to remove him. The hammers will still be there, so if you select another swordman, it'll finish the one you removed from the queue.

You Can't. Not only are the Hammers each turn applied to the Top unit, the Hammers 'already produced' are applied to the first of any unit in the queue.

You can't right? you can onlt swap between different units, so building axeman, swords, spearman, etc

You can't. I tried in all possible ways
What you can do is prebuild different units as insurance, then build a barracks, then finish the units.
But you can only prebuild one unit of a kind.

Thank you everyone for all the hotkeys and info for que'ing. I had a feeling you couldn't get multiple units of the same type to be at 1 turn in the que. Oh well, Multiple cities building multiple que's should do the trick in early game anyway.
