Read from some thread that the C2C is meant to be played on highest difficulty(Deity?). Is it because you have mainly "tweaked" the AI on said difficulty, or is it some sort of "personal preference"? I am asking because I play my current game on 'Noble' difficulty, and the AIs at times bats**t crazy. Ex. I have surrounded my enemies last city, and yet they still won't give into my demands of few recources etc.for peace, thus saving their civilization. Trust me they are so unmatched that it is insane. Also few cities have rebelled in another nation, and what does Tupi civ do when they emerge, declare war on me. With my 56 cities against their one, that has only pop of 2, not to mention that I am head maybe 2 or 3 eras. Now in the earlier versions the newly merged civs did infact auto declare war, if I am not mistaken, but in my current game a number of new civs has spawn, but none have declared war automaticly or other wise. They are simply at war with civ they rebelled from. This is not really a problem, which bothers me personally I just think it is hilarious. The reason why I am asking is that, do the AIs act "better" or smarter on Deity difficulty, or act more sane? Also the reason why I play on 'Noble' difficulty is that 'Noble' has the least amount handicap either way(mine or AIs) in production, research and culture. I would also like to ask, just that how difficult would it be to change the Deity difficulty(that is if it has "smarter" AIs) handicap wise to 1:1. I just want the "smartest" opponents without any handicap.
