Difficulty and Mementos

I play on Deity without mementos. I've never been a huge fan of sort of "new game+" design, where you unlock extra gameplay bonuses, not really sure why. I just want to play the game "as is" so to speak.
And for Civ VII in particular, I personally think the difficulty and challenge needs to be tuned upwards still.

They REALLY need an unlimited difficulty system. perhaps in the Custom you can include Deity+1 to Deity+99 for each option…and each adds a fixed amount to Deity bonuses. (so CS Deity +99 gives AIs a +206 total CS bonus…if you want the Hard diplo game, Culture would be +2060% for AI in Future Civics by Turn 20, etc.)

That way noone could claim the AI is too easy..it might be stupid, but at the right level it’s impossible to beat.

I play with a mod that does just this, however it doesn't go to 99 levels above Deity (206 extra CS, haha, that's what I call a challenge!), but rather adds 8 levels above.

I enjoyed the game I played with Deity++. I wish they would tune down the CS a bit in favor of giving the AI other bonuses. Facing +12 CS units on the second level of Deity++ is about the maximum I can personally handle. I can't imagine anyone playing at much higher levels without playing peaceful SimCity games.
