I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere in the GOTM section so I'll ask it here: should I play with Civ 2 Classic or with Civ 2 Gold? Or can I choose which version I want to play with?

Choose the one you like best You can choose; the starting SAV file is usually 2.42, which will load in MultiPlayer Gold Edition. Be aware that the AI is more temper-mental in MGE than 2.42, which makes a difference if you are playing One City Challenge or Early Landing type games. When you tech-gift the AI in MGE their attitude drops back more quickly than in 2.42.

OK, thanks I just wasn't sure if it was allowed to use both versions, because of the AI behaviour differences between Classic and MGE, as you mentioned.
