Question about the palace....

I was just wondering if anyone has ever completed the palace upgrades. The closest I have ever come has been 2 improvements away, and then I run out of time in the game.

I have heard rumors when I first played this game almost 9 years ago, that if you complete the entire palace improvments, that the road and the pillars disappear and it becomes a lake, or something like that, and was just wondering if anyone has ever completed it.

BTW... don't know if anyone can do it or not, but just out of curiosity, can anyone else get gunpowder before 2000BC? I have already acheived flight before the end of BC.

Hmmm. Im curios also with the palace...Yes, just some time ago I discovered
Gunpowder first (Prince level), but nowadays I'll start discovering democracy first...
[Edit: no I dont mean 'first' I mean that I'ää try to discover it as soon as possible]

well, I just started playing again, taking it easy on the chieften level... haven't lost my touch yet, as I have automobile and flight while still in BC. guess I should go back to the emporer level again and see if I get my butt kicked or if I can still do it.

I just recently found this site, and I must say, i am rather impressed at all the people that are fans of Civ... and I wish I would have found this site a few years ago...

When I play, the throne room upgrade stops appearing ages before the end of the game, so the most I have done is the 3 centre parts fully plus one more, does anyone know how to keep upgrading??

Throne room? That's in Civ2, not Civ!

I've seen the final palace in CivWin. It doesn't disappear, at least, not in that version. The statues are a bit much, though ...
