question, does checking radar tag means unit can see submarine?

just wondering.....if a unit has radar checked, does that mean it can see subs as well? or does it must check the "can see subs" tag as well

In order for a unit to see subs, the "Can see subs" ability must be selected. Radar gives the unit a visibility radius of two spaces. I suppose selected both abilities would allow a unit to see subs up to 2 spaces away.
