Question for Germans: How do you view Adolf Hitler?

Is that not what the early founding fathers of America did? Did they not consider Africans and Natives Americans and inferior race? Did they not kill hundreds of thousands of Native Americans just to expand their boarders?
 
What about Mao? We've already on Page 2 of this Hitler thread and no one has mentioned Mao? Get with it! Haven't you people read any of the other 50 "Hitler should be in the game cuz he's scary" threads? Mao is always mentioned!

Oh, I see Stalin is on the table. There needs to be a format for these threads, an outline to be followed.

1. Hitler should be in the game because he was real.
2. Someone counters "No, because he was mean, and it would hurt sales"
3. Then you retort " But Stalin and Mao are in the game"
4. The correct reply is "But Hitler has the swastika, and its illegal to show in some places"

.... and on and on....

and KT, stalin shouldn't be in the game either, and the same goes for mao. maybe isabella as well.

i am not american, and not familiar with american history as i am with european history, so i dont really know if he is recognized as responsible for the native american massacre.
anyway, the topic is what do we think about hitler, and i think i had made myself clear about my opinions in that matter.

as i said, his mistakes arent lies, just small in inaccuracies.

and i see this is turning into me against all others argument, which im not interested in entering.
 
George Washington wasn't the first American President. I don't know who was, because Taliesin won't tell me.

And this thread has nothing to do with civ. :wavey:
 
George Washington spent a lot of money fighting the Injuns. I don't know why Americans insist on whining about it though. You wouldn't have your mocha lattes, or your Best Buys, or iPods, or anything like that if good old George wasn't such a great leader.
 
Hitler often misquoted Nietzsche, slaughtering completely the original meaning of Nietszche's works. I generally don't believe in "good" and "bad", but that's inexcusable ;)

Before Stalin, Russia was a backwards agrarian peasant state. Afterwards, it was one of the two industrial superpowers of the world.

He also murdered millions and committed numerous atrocities. Most russians understandably have a mixed view of Stalin. He brought them industry and technology, although how he did it was monstrous.

Hitler on the other hand is almost universally reviled for what he did (except for a few crazies, but you always have those :crazyeye:). In the end, he gained nothing for the German people. Despite this, he was an important historical figure. Give it a few more decades and he will be in Civ XII :lol:
