Quick question: will mods made for vanilla CIV V still work in Gods & Kings? I'm especially interested if custom civilisations will still work.

civ's probably wont because the slots assigned to each player might be altered?

mechanical mod's probably wont unless the mechanic is not in the game (treegrowth yes)

I bet in a SHORT amount of time, by this weekend, the steam workshop will be updated and many mods included, personally i hope the "Palace Addditions" mod by Tophor will work, and if it does and he does not put it in the workshop, i will - and i will credit it to him.

I need advice.

All I want to do is mod a world for me to play in.
This world would favor my Civ so I do not believe others would be intrested.

How can I go about this?

The only thing I really miss about C4 is the world builder. It allowed a computer illiterate like myself to build my own little playpen and waste hours playing the game.I know the C5 modder might be better for you computer programers but we who did not have the oppertunity to learn computerese in school would like just a simple tool like fours world builder to mod our private games. Not to have to go to Five's user unfreindly mod builder.

If somehow there is a simpler way to mod this could someone either post it or PM me with detailed but simple instructions TIA ghost

@ghost: You should probably check this thread. Let's hope that the modder updates it :).

Thanks for the quick reply. Had seen this but noticed the " not updated to G&K"

I also could not figure out how to get in to the G&K modding areas as Modbuddy and its World Builder partener crash on me now. Should confess that I could mod a map in Five but could not figure out how to load it. As I said in previous post I am computer illiterate also typing impaired.

Now compatible with G&K. ;)
There is still a bug when one creates a missionary or a great prophet but, aside of that, everything works. I will add new G&K-features (editing the religions in a city, beliefs for each religion, etc) in the days to come.

And I will sacrifice 100 Vir............................. wait I think I'll just thank you instead.:goodjob:

To The_J and Don Quiche I wish to thank you for your help.
One:I believe I did not make myself clear.
Two: DQ your Mod looks really nice :goodjob: but was not what I was asking, I was looking for away to edit the map/s to give myself a slightly better starting position.
Three: I could not do this thru World Builder as I could not figure out how to load my saved maps.
Four: DQ you and The_J then came to my rescue by suggesting IGE. I did not need the detailed editing ability it provides. However on unselecting IGE in the start menu I was shown how I was following the wrong process for loading my My Maps.
I had been going straight thru Setup/single player/selecting my map to play on.
I needed to go Setup/mods/single player/selecting my map to play on.
Modern life stinks if your Computer Illiterate.

But you can do that with IGE: just add new units to the position you want and delete the old ones. Then restore fog. :)

On the other side the civ5 UI for mods is not terribly intuitive. About five to ten people complain every day on Steam they couldn't load IGE.
