If more than one unit is tagged for DRAFT (say spearman and swordsman, equal tech level) what determines which one is created when you draft civilians? Is it random, or the 1st in the units list or something?

I think draft gives you the best def unit (infantry unit) you can have. it starts at nationalism. so you can draft rifles, inf, mech (not sure, never draft mechs)
You can draft MI, the AI does it all the time.

I have seen the AI take a city and immediately draft a spear or a pike. I have never seen a sword or MI drafted. I'll have to play w/ this.
When drafting the decision goes between all the units with the draft flag checked. The unit with the highest defense, that you can also construct, is then chosen. If there is a tie (like between rifleman and guerillas, which is in fact draftable) the cheapest unit is chosen.

I think that's a whip, not a draft that the AI is doin'. Is the AI in republic or demo?

How can they produce pike/spear if they have Nationalism? It must be whip.

Some ancient units are tagged as draft even though by Nationalism times there are obsolete and replaced by more up to date units. Whats is a whip?
Pop rushing is refered to as getting out the whip.
