Hello! First let me appologize if this had allready been asked/discussed here, if so can anyone show me where?

There are hundreds of fan made units for civ3, my question is, will there be a way to convert them to use with civ4?
What about design specifications so the civ3 unit creators can get busy and start making content for civ4 right away? ;)

Thanks

Since the Civ3 units are 2d animations and the Civ4 units are full 3d, the best you could hope for are billboards.

They are using Gamebryo, which can (with the right tools) import 3DS Max models as well as Maya models.

Well, the best you could hope for by doing it yourself, true.

Fortunately all of the top unit makers make their models in 3d programs. Some of those will be incompatible with Gamebryo (namely Aaglo's and anyone else that uses the same tool he does), but others will presumably be able to convert their units from the original 3d models into whatever Gamebryo's format is.

You might get yelled at for speaking in Portugese, so you might get yelled at. I personally don't mind so much, I think its cool to have so much variety in culture that someone might be able to occasionally have a conversation in Portugese.
