Questions about Infernals

I was playing the other day as the Infernals and I had a few questions:

1) What is the best civ to get the Infernals out as soon as possible? And how many cities should I build if my only goal with my starter civ is to get the Infernals?

2) Is there any way to turn off or at least down the fire graphic, it's really taking too much of the screen and slowing down my cpu?

3) It also seems to me that the Infernals benefit more than most from a high Armageddon score since they aren't effected by most of it, but why are the horsemen not neutral to them?

Thanks

It depends. I like Lanun, just so the Infernals will get the Seafaring trait and thus faster ships. Just don't pick a civ that lacks Elder Councils or Libraries (like the Calabim or Doviello) if you want to switch soon.

Personally I prefer Advanced Start games with a huge number of points. I prefer having 2 cities, and buying the techs that make all the evil religions (and maybe also some others) be founded in the second city. I'd have Malevolent Designs already, so that city can be taken as soon as the Infernal Pact is researched, hopefully before the AI can build an inferior capital elsewhere. Make you you get trade, and share the evil religious techs and Necromancy with everyone you can, preferably in exchange for other techs. It might actually be best to emphasize spreading OO first, perhaps even converting so you can bribe good leaders to adopt it.

I believe that the only way would be to disable effects, which mould make them not show up at all and would also make Tar Demons and Fire Elementals invisible (well, technically there is still a 1 pixel great prophet graphic if you look really carefully).

The Infernals do start at peace with the barbs (including the horsemen), but the barbarians will still declare war on them if they get 150% stronger than another player, just like they would any player with the barbarian trait. It is also easy to accidentally declare war on them with spells,

Are the horsemen just considered normal barbarian units, ie is any civ that's at peace with the barbs at peace with them?
