Hey guys! I've got a couple military-based questions, as I'm normally a peaceful civer. I just won my first conquest game Normal map, 8 civs, Japan, 3rd difficulty setting, took me until 2043, just beat retirement
.
Army Make-Up: I normally just stack up my best attacking units into an Army (1st army was 3 Cavalry, then 3 Tanks, 3 Modern tanks, 4 modern tanks with Pentagon, etc...). However, I noticed that the AI was adding some Mech. Infantry in there as well. I'm not sure how the units are molded together, so is a 3 Tank+1 Mech Infantry better than 4 tanks? How About 2 Tanks, 1 Mech. infantry and something like an artillary unit?
I could have sworn I read something in the manual about disbanding a city - and gaining the populace as workers - after conquering it. I just couldn't figure out how to do it
. Is it possible, or do you just build workers until the city is gone?
I had one major problem post-patch. I had complete control of one continent, the french had complete control of the other. While amassing troops for the final war I would build modern armor all over the place, then ship them all via rail to my closest coastal city to the other land mass where my navy was waiting to pick them up. Three times, using the 'go to' command, my armor would stop outside one of my captured cities and fight to the death with one of my own mech infantries! You think I would've learned, but I didn't start moving the manually until I lost the third tank. This is the second version of the patch too, by the way.
Thanks in advance!
