in the civ editor for governments, if i chose "none" for corruption, does it mean shield and commerce corruption? or one of the other?

Back again, no disease this time but lots of barbarians, like 3 stacks of 20 on one round followed by 2 more stacks on the next. My question is how typical is this of game play (level Regent, year 350 BC) and what is the best defensive strategy when they rush you?

Fastrook - experienced civ2 - novice civ3, but loving it

Hordes of barbarians (that's what they're called) appear when even one civ enters the Middle Ages. The best strategy is to settle all land by then so barbarians can't spring up, but otherwise, attacking horsemen is pretty easy, especially if you can get some archers. Otherwise, just keep your border cities protected with some fortified spearman.

If you are desperately short on troops, spend lots'o money and let the horses into a city.

Massive barbarian uprisings occur whenever a second civ enters a new age. It's not limited to the middle ages. The number of barbarians that appear is determined by the barbarian activity setting when the game is started. I think the most is 24 barbs at raging.

If you can't lead them away to another civ, you might best just let them pillage your border town. Gift away or otherwise spend your gold first since you are gonna lose it anyway.

sorry to repost this question but no one answered it:

Hmm..don't know. Best to start a new thread in Creation and Customization and ask. Generally, multiple posts are frowned upon, but in this case it would be okay.

In multiplayer, after monarchy is researched, I don't get the "switch government" pop up like I do in single player. I can't figure out how to cause the anarchy and change to monarchy from despotism. Can I encourage a change somehow manually?

Sorry for the newbie nature of my question but I am completely new to moding - I am trying to utilize the Rise and Rule Mod - I have downloaded and installed into a Scenario Folder - how do I go about playing it?

just to make sure, you have conquests, right (RaR only works with conquests, if you only have vanilla get double your pleasure)? if so so to civ-content and select Rise and Rule :)

Doh! - and to think thta was the only button I never tried - thanks - works like a charm - I'll get the double your pleasure mod as well -

Turner . . . CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the kid and the lady are healthy.

If I build or capture Pyramids and already have several graneries, what happens to them? Do they disappear? Are they automatically sold? What if the wonder expires, like the Temple of Artemis? Do the temples reappear?

Where is a website where I can find the map in the Civilization 3: Game of the Year Edition? I have the regular Civilization 3 with expansions, but I can't find a place that has those 3 extra maps to download. Does any of the expansions include those maps? What are the names of the maps and what are they like?

I'm not sure what 3 maps those are, but you can try looking in the User-created Maps subforum of the Creation and Customization forum.

If you capture it and already have some, they stay, but their upkeep disappears, so they are just like all the other granaries for free. However, it's a good idea to sell them before you build/capture it so you can get the gold from them, because you can get them back next turn.
